Bluegrass Meadows Microvillage is a progressive community of people, animals, tiny homes and cabins located 15 minutes north of Terrace, BC. We feel privileged to be living, playing and cultivating community on the ancestral territory of the Tsimshian Nation.
We currently have 16 rented cabins, a common building with laundry, a cell tower, Wifi, a Recycling/Compost & Waste program… and we are excited to be building a community garden in the Spring of 2019. The village is surrounded by hiking trails, fishing holes and several lakes. And, we feel so grateful to have a diverse group of tenants who share their unique gifts and skills with the community.
In 2015, Terrace, BC was facing a rental crisis with zero occupancy. Residents of Terrace were looking for more home rental options as well as attainable home ownership. From this feedback, we developed Canada’s first micro community on 31 private acres of beautiful, wild land skirting the Kalum River.
Why Blugrass Meadows? Well, the land where our community is housed used to also be the festival grounds for an annual Bluegrass Festival. So, it felt fitting to pay homage to this part of the land’s eclectic history.
